thankful for summer bounty

When I was a kid I didn’t get it. I thought my dad's garden was a waste of space, robbing me of valuable grass to play on. But now it all makes sense. There really is a true joy in being able to pick herbs right from your garden + watch a warm summer produce a beautiful tomato harvest. I know summer collapsed into fall a few weeks ago, but on this Thanksgiving weekend, I am thankful for growing up in a home where a bountiful garden was only one of many food-related luxuries.
